“I think the hotel's central location makes it an ideal base for exploring Rye's historic sites and nearby Camber Sands Beach, and the curated décor strikes a nice balance between antique charm and modern comfort. While some rooms might benefit from a refresh, the overall experience, particularly the bespoke wedding services and focus on local cuisine, seemed thoughtfully designed. It's clear that this hotel wants to offer a personalized experience for guests.”

superb experience

stylish rooms attentive staff
i found the renovated building to be beautifully maintained. the central location offered easy access to local attractions. i particularly appreciated the attentive staff and the stylish rooms.
i found the bar and lounge areas quite small. because many non-residents were also using the hotel, securing a table for coffee or drinks was difficult, especially over the weekend. it detracted slightly from the overall experience.

stylish stay

comfy bar original features recent refurbishment delicious desserts
I found original features in the comfy bar area, perfect for pre-meal drinks. I noted the building had undergone recent refurbishment after a fire. the ambiance in the restaurant was quite lovely. i appreciated the early dinner service catering to families with children. the desserts, especially, tasted delicious.
Street noise was noticeable. Gulls and early morning waste collection disrupted sleep. i found the window didn't seal well, which amplified the noise due to thin glass.
Dining
9/10
All meals ordered were delicious, and i recommend it to everyone.
Facilities

the hotel decor merges modern design with the older building very effectively. i found easy 24-hour parking near the hotel and staff gave clear pre-arrival instructions. the bar was comfortable, perfect for an evening.

The superior double room included a very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. the room was also spotlessly clean. the provided tea, coffee, and biscuits added to the room's appeal. I noticed a good shower.

Wonderful Staff and Relaxing Room

comfy bed relaxing chairs spacious tub
The front desk staff greeted me warmly and showed me to my room. My room had a big comfortable bed, two relaxing chairs, and a bathroom. The bathroom included a deep tub and a great shower. It was all super clean. The restaurant staff served me a tasty meal upon arrival and delicious eggs Benedict for breakfast. I was promptly seated and enjoyed really good customer service. I am grateful for such a restful and luxurious experience.
The hotel has many stairs, and there is no lift to reach the top floor. The floor in my room was also quite slanted.
Location
9/10
The hotel enjoys a super location. The surroundings offer much to explore. The area is full of character. I loved the central position, with access to nearby attractions and points of interest. It is really a great spot.
